Hello! My name is Dr. Medeeha Khan, and I have guided students and families through the college application process for several years.
I obtained a full tuition merit based scholarship at my Alma Mater, the University of Southern California, and then went on to medical school in PA. Now I am in pediatric residency in Florida, working with incredible kids and their families every day.
As a doctor, I care deeply about my patients.
As a college advisor, I care just as deeply about my students, their dreams and goals, and simplifying college admissions for parents.

I have a passion for working with students and their families because I remember how stressful the college application cycle was for myself and my parents at the time. And I equally remember how incredible it was to obtain my merit based scholarship and then to go on to gain acceptance to medical school.
It is is the perfect time for parents to start researching and delving into the college application process. In my weekly blog posts, I will provide college preparation tips and action items that will guide you and your student.
This year, families may hear conflicting information about how to write a personal statement for college or what good college essay ideas for premed are.
Sometimes parents come to me looking to learn about how to obtain merit scholarships for college like I obtained. And of course- the ever confusing topic of the SAT and topics such as test-optional.
My goal in this blog is to provide information, as well as checklist items, guides, and easily understandable timelines, in order to simplify the college application process.
Now is a great time to start researching and learning so that when your student comes to you asking how to write a college essay, or even how to start a college essay, you have some guidance and some help. I will also discuss scholarships, in particular merit-based scholarships, and break down myths and misconceptions about the college application process. Read more on merit scholarships here: Merit Based Scholarships: A Summary of All The Things You Will Need to Know
I also plan to create a forum for parents so that parents can collaborate and learn and share about how to navigate the college application process.
Thank you for joining me! I appreciate comments and welcome you to reach out to me through the Live Chat on this website if you have ideas or requests for blog posts or are interested in any of my college advising packages. Comment below with any questions!
Yours truly,
Dr. Medeeha Khan
