Is College Advising Necessary: What It Is, and How It Can Help

College advising can be a useful tool in your toolbox when navigating the college admissions process. I wanted to take a moment to talk about what college advising looks like in my sphere, as currently I am onboarding new clients for the upcoming 2026-20207 cycle. As a college advisor, I started out several years ago guiding students of all fields of study: finance, accounting, business, physical therapy. Even though now I'm a doctor, I learned and crafted my vision for college advising from students of all disciplines, and continue to love the diversity in clientele that I have: students of all paths, from premed or medicine interests to business and beyond.

College advising looks different depending on who the advisor is. I personally offer advising for high school students and college students. This time of year, I tend to have the most requests for eleventh graders in high school who are seeking college advising packages for the upcoming admissions cycle in the fall. I also offer hourly advising for students who are in other grades such as 9th grade, who want insight into course selections based on their interests. I also offer interview preparation and help for students interviewing for internships or preparing to do college or scholarship interviews. Some specific programs such as the combined BS/MD program, where if you are accepted you have acceptance with some conditions to the medical school as well, also have interview requirements so I help with that.

I have a passion for guiding and helping students and families navigate the often confusing landscape of college admissions. The timelines, deadlines, intricacies of scholarships and supplemental essays, often become overwhelming. So to answer the question of "Is college advising necessary", I respond honestly: "No." However, it can be a valuable way to save energy, time, and stress for not only the student, and the family. I have a passion for clarifying and making the college admissions path easier for students and their families so they can focus their time, energy and attention, on making the most of their time together before they set off for college.

My packages currently are on the Home page of the website, and I do curate and customize packages or advising set-ups if none of the standard 3 packages match what you are looking for. If you are interested in a phone call, please Live Chat me through the Home Page or comment below this post, and I will respond in a timely manner.

College advising relieves stress so families can focus on students before they graduate
